Prize4Life is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to
accelerating the discovery of treatments and cures for ALS (amyotrophic lateral
sclerosis, also known as Lou Gehrig's disease). Our mission is to
accelerate the discovery of treatments and a cure for ALS by using powerful
incentives to attract new people and drive innovation.
As an organization dedicated to realizing a world without ALS,
Prize4Life values:
Results: Prize4Life is an
innovative "results-based" not-for-profit organization. Effective
treatments and a cure for ALS are the organization's most highly prized
results. The pursuit of tangible results informs and motivates everything we
do.
Creative Innovation: We know that the
solutions to some of the biggest challenges in ALS research will require
out-of-the-box thinking, and some of the most critical discoveries may come
from unlikely places. We encourage creative approaches and reward outcomes
regardless of the scientific discipline from which they originated.
Global ALS Collaboration: ALS observes no
geographic boundaries and neither do we. Prize4Life is committed to
facilitating collaboration with those best positioned to help us create a world
without ALS, regardless of where in the world these individuals and
organizations may be.
Efficiency/Leverage: ALS patients demand a
cure today, and we aim to find it for them. We are committed to working quickly
without waste of time or resources. We identify, and partner to develop, the
necessary missing resources and programs that will transform the ALS drug
development landscape. We proactively track the current efforts of other ALS
related organizations to avoid redundancies. With every dollar that we invest,
we seek to encourage the investment of others, and amplify the impact of external
investments to develop new treatments and a cure for ALS.
